JANSI gathers information about accidents and failures regarding domestic and overseas nuclear facilities to identify the information that should be shared among Japanese nuclear operators; at the same time, JANSI provides information including the details of additional investigations and deliberations as necessary.
To prevent the occurrence of similar events that may affect the safety and reliability of nuclear power stations, JANSI sorts out and screens the information for significance classification, works out corrective actions for significant events, and issues documents corresponding thereto. JANSI also follows up the implementation of corrective actions.
JANSI will review the criteria for the issuance of documents, which will be applied to the documents issued in and after April 2014. In line with the criteria review, issued documents have been renamed to allow easy identification of significance.
