On September 14, 2021, Japan-US CNO Leadership Meeting (Proposed Themes: Initiatives to promote a culture for continuous improvement (Staying on Top), The role of CNOs, The current status of nuclear energy in Japan, Initiatives for information sharing and improvement regarding security, The role of CNOs) was held remotely.

This meeting was scheduled to be held by Japanese CNOs visiting the Columbia Generating Station in the United States in FY2020, but it was postponed to FY2021 due to the spread of COVID-19.
