The Japan-US CNO Leadership Meeting was first held in September 2013 when the US CNO came to Japan to visit the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and exchange opinions with the Japanese CNO. It was decided that the Japanese and US CNOs would continue to take the opportunity to exchange opinions at a Japan-US CNO Leadership Meeting arranged by JANSI and INPO. In 2017, the US CNO visited Japan from September 11 to 15, where they conducted a technical tour of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and other facilities, and exchanged opinions with the Japanese CNO.
