The European Nuclear Society’s (ENS) forum, TopSafe 2017, was held (at IAEA in Wien) from February 12 to 16, drawing many researchers and engineers from 26 countries in Europe and around the world. From JANSI, President & CEO Shojiro Matsuura gave the keynote speech, entitled “Present Situation and Trends of Nuclear Power in Japan after the Fukushima Accident,” and General Manager Akihide Kugo both served as chairman of the Fukushima session and presented on the effects of JANSI’s leadership training (presentation materials available at member website below). There were also two presentations from the Safety Improvement Department, focusing on how operators evaluate safety improvement measures.
