Mr Jardaneh from NRC takes training in JANSI

Feb. 17, 2016
Japan Nuclear Safety Institute

For two weeks from Feb. 1 to Feb. 12, 2016, Mansfield Fellow Mahmoud Jardaneh, a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) employee, stayed in JANSI for his training.

Mr Jardaneh is visiting several Japanese organizations by arrangement of the Mansfield Foundation, of which mission is to enhance U.S.-Japan relationship. JANSI is the third place for his training after the Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

For the first week in JANSI, Mr Jardaneh had a lecture from each division to obtain an overview of the institute. For the second week, more precise explanation of particular activities (ex. Leadership Training Programs and Operational Experience information management) was provided for him to gain deeper insights of our activities. On the last day of the training, Mr Jardaneh gave a presentation on his impression of JANSI, comparison of NRA to NRC etc., and JANSI staffs who attended the presentation actively exchanged opinions with him.
