On August 27th, Prof. ZHANG Zhijian Vice President of Harbin Engineering University and his four colleagues visited JANSI. JANSI explained the current situation of the Japanese nuclear power plants, ongoing activities to improve safety and evaluation of severe accident (SA) countermeasures. From Prof. Zhang, there was introduction of the development of nuclear power plants in China with a focus on safety improvement measures based on the Fukushima Daiichi accident. Subsequently both parties exchanged opinions on the various issues including the above-mentioned topics.
